The Spirit God Byakko chose to save the life of an abandoned infant by giving him his life thus Kazuki was created with an abnormal life span in order to live and save the world from the darkness soon to come. However being human at the time and growing a tail and cat ears there was an imbalance of good and evil within Kazuki thus appearing differently than Byakko himself.
